Sustainability

Sustainability Department:

The Director of Sustainability is responsible for overseeing the Gonzaga Green Fund, running Green Fund Council, and implementing sustainable programming on campus.

Green Fund is a sum of money set aside by a portion of the Sustainability Fee to fund student-led sustainability or environmental projects on campus or in the Spokane community. Student applications for funding are reviewed 4 times per academic year by the Green Fund Council, who allocates funding for eligible projects. These projects propose opportunities to enhance sustainability in Gonzaga Â鶹¹ÙÍø's campus operations.

Green Fund Council is comprised of 13 students:

  • GSBA Director of Sustainability
  • GSBA Treasurer
  • 3 GSBA Senators
  • 3 Undergraduate Students
  • 1 Graduate Student
  • Residence Hall Association Director of Sustainability
  • Representative from a Gonzaga-recognized environmental club

Previously Funded Projects:

  • Xeriscaping

Green Fund is a great example of Zag's commitment to sustainability and has contributed to Gonzaga's 32 ranking in "Green Colleges" by the Princeton Review.
