Special Project Requests
Special Project Requests
A Special Project Request (SPR) is required for any site that wants to add something to or modify any district facility with something that does not currently exist. Here are some examples of an SPR:
-
Adding Murals
-
Adding Gardens and Planting Trees
-
Adding New Signage
-
Adding a Storage Shed or Shipping Container
-
Upgrading an Existing Message Board to a Digital Marquee
An SPR identifies the following things about the additions or modifications to existing facilities.
- Who is making the request?
- Does the site Administrator approve?
- Who is responsible for funding?
- What is the funding source?
- Who is doing the work?
- What is the timeline for completion?
- What materials will be used?
- Is the appropriate liability insurance in place?
- Are district specifications and guidelines being followed?
If you are interested in a special project, please submit a completed Special Project Request to Facilities Support Services at least 30 days before the design process. All forms submitted will need the appropriate paperwork, map(s) of the project location, and the Principal/Site Coordinator’s signature of approval. All required forms are listed below.
Starting a project without prior approval can create potential problems and additional fees for which your site would be accountable. Please contact Facilities Support Services at (916) 395-3970 if you have any questions regarding the special project request form or procedure process.
