Program Information
The CKM VAPA dance company is a four-year experience designed to introduce, refine, critique, and elevate dance techniques in jazz, ballet, musical theater, hip hop, modern, contemporary/lyrical, cultural dances, and student-inspired dance styles. Students will be exposed to professional level dancing by attending local and non-local performances. Students will study dance techniques as well as history, culture, and theory. Students will explore improvisation and choreographic form. The CKM VAPA dance company will produce and run their own dance concert showcasing student-choreographed works, special guest-choreographed works.

Students residing within the Â鶹¹ÙÍø boundaries can submit an online application from November 4, 2024 at 8:00am, to November 22, 2024 at 5:00pm. Students living outside the Â鶹¹ÙÍø boundaries can apply through the permit process from April 7, 2025 at 8:00am, to April 25, 2025 at 5:00pm.
A dance video must also be submitted to the C.K. McClatchy VAPA program by November 22, 2024 at 5:00pm. Instructions on how to submit a portfolio can be found at .
