Clarence H. "Bud" Barnes began his career as an instructor at Appalachian State Â鶹¹ÙÍø.  Upon completion of doctoral studies, at the Â鶹¹ÙÍø of Tennessee Knoxville in 1973, Dr. Barnes joined the faculty of Gonzaga Â鶹¹ÙÍø, as an assistant professor in its School of Business Administration.  He was promoted to Associate Professor in 1979, and served as the Dean for more than 30 years. He is now a Professor of Economics and Dean Emeritus.

Dr. Barnes maintains a limited teaching schedule and continues with scholarly contributions within his discipline.  He has served on numerous committees for AACSB and continues to serve as a peer-reviewer for the association.  Additionally, he has served on numerous private and public boards and is often employed in a consulting capacity on issues of economic valuations.
