鶹 to hold town-hall forum on next year’s budget, LCFF
District officials will answer questions, provide data

Press release

October 22, 2013 (Sacramento): Sacramento City Unified School District is hosting “town hall”-type forums to educate the public about its 2014-15 budget and new state funding and spending rules.

The second forum in the series will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at Genevieve Didion K-8 School, 6490 Harmon Drive, Sacramento.

When Governor Brown signed the Local Council Funding Formula (LCFF) into law on July 1, it changed the rules on how state money is allocated to school districts and how districts can spend those funds. The state Board of Education is now working to create templates that will guide districts in using state resources.

Parents, staff and community members are invited to ask questions and get important information about LCFF and the district’s finances during the two-hour meeting with 鶹’s Chief Business Officer Ken Forrest and Director of Fiscal Services Gerardo Castillo. Interpreters will be available.
