Kings Jump in to Give 鶹 School a ‘Royal’ Remodeling
The team’s entire roster will turn out Tuesday to celebrate Cesar Chavez Day of Volunteerism
March 26, 2012 (Sacramento): An 鶹 school is getting a makeover worthy of royalty this week courtesy the Sacramento Kings.
To celebrate Cesar Chavez Day of Volunteerism, the Kings are rolling up their sleeves to beautify Mark Hopkins Elementary School. The work includes installing new landscaping, painting, assembling equipment and preparing a new computer/literacy center and basketball court.
The entire team roster will be on hand Tuesday (March 27) when the spiffed up campus is debuted for students in a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
“We are so grateful to the Kings for this amazing gift to our school,” said Principal Tiffany Smith-Simmons. “It’s wonderful to have a community partner that recognizes the importance of both staying fit through activities like basketball and doing well academically in school.”
Other organizations partnering with the Kings on the school
makeover are Wells Fargo, El Dorado Hills Town Center and Waste
Management.
