At the March 7 meeting of the Sacramento City Unified School District Board, the Board announced that Christopher Ralston has been appointed as Assistant Superintendent for Facility Support Services, and recognized students from Miwok Middle School who participate in the “Oakey Dokies†as Stellar Students. The Oakey Dokies is an extracurricular jazz band ensemble directed by district music teacher Patricia Wassum. The students named their band as a play on words with the new Miwok mascot, the mighty Oak tree.
New ELD Teacher of the Year Recognition
The Multilingual Department is proud to announce the ELD Teacher of the Year Recognition. This is the first year we are going to celebrate teachers who serve our Emergent Bilinguals formerly known as English learners.
Earn the California State Seal of Biliteracy
Graduating seniors, you may be eligible to earn the State Seal of Biliteracy. If you meet the following criteria, you may qualify to take a language exam.

Learn More About the California State Seal of Civic Engagement
The Â鶹¹ÙÍø Student Ambassadors and Dr. Hueling Lee, along with Superintendent Lisa Allen, will have its State Seal of Civic Engagement Virtual Kick-off TOMORROW (Thursday, February 22nd), at 5PM over Zoom. We highly encourage your attendance to learn more about getting the Seal on your transcript/diploma, district certificate, and a medal for graduation. Come ask your questions, even, and especially, if you are unsure about the State Seal!

Classified Positions: 10am to 1pm
(Examples: Instructional aide, bus driver, office staff, nutrition services, district administrators, custodians)
Certificated Positions: 2pm to 6pm
(Examples: Teachers, site administrators, district administrators, school nurses, social workers)
